With a heritage that includes two of the Arab Worlds premiere merchant dynasties, the Fakhros and the Almoayyeds, Mohammed Bin Adel Fakhro has entrepreneurship firmly in his blood. An economics graduate of of Stanford University, he has spent much of the past decade devoting his time to the field of entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship (the latter being entrepreneurship within an established entity). He has done this by creating his own new companies and by creating new companies within his familys holding companies.
He has spearheaded the formation of dozens of family and personal ventures over the past decade in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the UAE, and Qatar, including The Yellow Chilli by Sanjeev Kapoor, Fakhro Motors, Gloria Jeans Coffees, MBA Fakhro Outdoor Media Gulf, Vapiano Bahrain, Vapiano Kuwait, Zayt Zaytoon, MBA Fakhro Integrated Systems Gulf, MBA Fakhro Software Gulf, Go Rent A Car UAE, Go Rent A Car Qatar, MEMS Emirates, Engel & Voelkers, Fakhro Contracting, Deco Vision, Mofakro.com, GulfReader.com, SubmissionGate.com, Dragon Software, Morces.com, articlesBD.com, Mohammed Fakhro Saudi Arabia Company, and many others.
In addition to his entrepreneurial efforts under his family and personal businesses, Fakhro has also been involved with a number of corporate acquisitions and also holds a number of directorship positions on some of his familys established companies. In 2007 he formed MBA Fakhro Group to organize his various personal activities under one umbrella, and to improve coordination among the various entities, in addition to acting as a holding company for his holdings in his familys companies.
With many unrealized ambitions and a host of new concepts in the pipeline, the Mohammed Fakhro story is just beginning. He is constantly on the lookout for new business opportunities and believes that an entrepreneur is only as good as his last business idea, and that an entrepreneur is nothing without a strong team. He has plans to introduce a host of new concepts to the region in the months and years ahead, including an innovative tinted building cladding facility to develop glass that tints in the sun to reduce energy consumption in the Gulf, a plan to recycle old rubber tyres to solve the tyre waste problem in the Gulf, a regional private school franchise to improve the minds of our youth, and a regional fitness franchise to address the obesity problem. He also has plans to create a BPO business in India and to create a venture capital fund in the Gulf, the latter of which will have the goal of fostering entrepreneurial success through innovation.
Fakhro is enthusiastic about the entrepreneurial cause and continues to support the economy of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the Gulf region as a whole, through the initiation of new business ideas and the creation of job opportunities. In line with this vision, Fakhro is a strong advocate of Tenmou, Bahrains first business angels network, donating advertising locations that he owns throughout the Kingdom to this cause. Fakhro also gives his time to youth and leadership organization inJaz Bahrain, which has invited him to talk to students about leadership and the entrepreneurial spirit.
Fakhro believes that entrepreneurship is a profession that, at its best, creates jobs, promotes innovation, bridges cultures, and enhances wealth. He believes that it is important for successful entrepreneurs to give back to the communities in which they operate. He has chosen to do so by devoting his community efforts to the field of entrepreneurship itself, through public speaking, funding, mentoring, and educating current and future entrepreneurs, as well as setting an example in his everyday life and his career for his peers to follow.
